Justin Simotas was born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area and grew up in New Port Richey, Florida. He loves the state, so when Justin graduated from high school he stayed close to home and attended the University of South Florida in Tampa. While in school, Justin studied electrical engineering before starting work full-time.
Justin’s journey to DILO is a winding one that began when he left the University of South Florida. At that time, Justin took a position at a local restaurant as a barback. After tiring from working consistent late nights, he began a position at AutoZone as a parts associate where he worked for a year before taking an opportunity to work at a family friend’s business called Frames & Things. It was during his time at Frames & Things that Justin heard of a job opening at DILO from a friend who was an employee at the company.
After interviewing with us, Justin was offered a job starting as a General Technician-I. Once he completed his 90-day training period, he became the lead technician for the mini shop where he focused on repairing small service carts, leak detectors, mass flow meters, and other miscellaneous equipment. He worked in the mini shop for about a year before starting to transition to work in the Mega and Analyzer Shop. At his two-year mark, Justin was given the opportunity to do travel work on occasion, which he accepted. He continued to work in the mini shop while also taking on the responsibility of training new employees hired by the company. He also completed a factory training at DILO GMBH (Germany) in April, 2023. In October of last year, Justin transitioned to the After Sales department. Justin has been with DILO for 5 years now and states that he can see himself working here until he retires!
Outside of work, Justin keeps himself busy with multiple hobbies including: 3D printing, vehicle detailing, working on his 1988 Toyota Supra project car, and watching Anime. Every year, Justin attends MegaCon in Orlando, which has become a bit of a tradition for him and his close friends. Check out a picture of Justin’s 3D printing work below!
We are so fortunate to have such a talented and passionate team member here at DILO. DILO’s After Sales Manager, Christian Celeste, says of Justin:
"Justin’s technical knowledge and customer service skills are outstanding, and he already has made a big impact on the after sales department. He is a great addition to our team. Justin-Thank you for everything you do and all your hard work!!”
Our Sales Director, Corey Ratza, also had the following to say about Justin:
“With his wealth of knowledge, Justin is my go-to resource when I need support with a product or service. With his attention to detail, he helps to break down complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts. These traits suit him and our customers well in his position with After Sales and customer service support. We cannot thank him enough for his impact here at DILO!”
