Does DILO Direct offer disposal of SF₆?

Yes, DILO Direct will take your unwanted SF₆ gas, recondition the SF₆, repackage it and make      it available to use in GIE. This service is designed to give SF₆ users an alternative to venting, destroying, or stockpiling SF₆ gas contaminated with air, nitrogen (N2) and/or CF4.

How does DILO Direct recondition the SF₆?

DILO Direct reconditions SF₆ using a system of filters and a SF₆ gas separator. Our environmentally friendly separators use a cryogenic process to remove moisture, by-product, and air contaminates from the SF₆ Gas.

Can I get my contaminated SF₆ gas cleaned and returned?

Definitely! DILO Direct will recondition your contaminated SF6 gas to exceed IEEE and IEC standards. We guarantee > 99% SF6 purity, < 40 ppm moisture, zero by-products. We will provide you with a report of the quality and quantity of the SF₆ before and after reconditioning. We also provide customers with a cylinder DOT certification status and send all gas back in in-certification cylinders.  

I’m not sure if my cylinders are in certification. How can I tell? Do I need to take the SF₆ gas out?

DOT/ISO cylinders have a test qualification stamped on the shoulder consisting of a month, the testing facility’s identification, and year. In the same area, you might find plus (+) symbol  and/or star symbol. Stamps with and without out a plus are in certification for 5 years from the stamped date. Cylinders with a star are in certification for 10 years.

You do not need to take SF₆ out of a cylinder with expired qualification; however, it is not recommended practices to fill an expired cylinder.

Will DILO Direct fill my cylinders with new SF₆?

DILO Direct has DILO Certified SF₆ for purchase, which has been reconditioned to exceed IEEE and IEC standards. DILO’s reconditioned SF₆ gas has the same handling requirements and properties as virgin SF₆ when used in GIE, but it has a much lower carbon footprint. We can top off or fill your existing cylinders with DILO Certified SF₆.

Can I purchase the cylinder?

Yes, DILO Direct offers cylinders for purchase. They can be filled with SF₆ gas, or empty (in vacuum).
