Guillaume Carrière is a Canada native. He was born near Montreal, Canada in Pointe-Claire and grew up in the Montérégie region (Montréal West Island). Guillaume’s family is originally from the Ottawa area, but before Guillaume was born, his parents moved to the Montréal area. Guillaume’s father was a train engineer. His family made the move in part for his father’s work and also because one of his brothers has Down Syndrome and the best services were located there.
Guillaume has been part of the SF6 world for 15 years and counting. In school, Guillaume studied electrical engineering and following his studies, he began his career in the SF6 world as a Field Service Representative with ABB’s Power Products Division where he was responsible for testing, commissioning, and coordinating projects for Canadian Utilies. His career brought him to specialize on GIS systems from Siemens Energy Management for Hydro-Quebec and BC Hydro. From that experience, Guillaume then started a sister company in Canada for KoCoS Messtechnik AG and grew a sales structure across Canada.
Since the day he earned his degree, Guillaume was managing SF6 for HV breakers, CT’s, CVT’s, GIS and was using DILO equipment. additionally, he is certified in SF6 gas management based on EU regulation (EC) 517/2014 and the laboratories that use DILO equipment. Currently, Guillaume acts as Director of Operations for Consult-Elect and Operations Manager DILO Direct Canada, where he handles team and customer relations, technical support, services, sales, invoicing and more. In his day-to-day, Guillaume manages a team of electrical and mechanical Field Service Representatives, Project Managers and electrical and mechanical Engineer for the utilities and marine markets.
Outside of work, Guillaume loves music, cooking, cycling and spending quality time with his family and close friends. He also adds that he was born with skates on feet so he is not bad in hockey, either!
